Hi! Today, instead of adding a new video, I want to post a brief review of some previous lessons, so you can read them and refresh what we have learned before. This will be necessary to follow our next lessons in a better way, since we need to be on the same page regarding the base that we have already acquired.

First lets begin with a review of the basic question words:

Qué – What

Quién – Who (Singula)

Quiénes – Who (Plural)

Cómo – How

Por qué – Why

Para qué – What for

Para quién / para quiénes – For who (Singular/Plural)

Cuándo – When

Dónde – Where

Cuánto – How much

Cuántos – How many

Desde cuándo – Since when

Future tense (one method): Verb “ir” conjugated in Present tense + “a” + verb in infinitive. Like this:

Voy a caminar – I will walk.

Van a viajar mañana – They are going to travel tomorrow

Verb “to be” in Spanish translates into verbs “Ser”, “Estar” and “Haber”, depending on the function or use of “to be”.

Ser“to be” in the more permanent use, like in “El pasto es verde” (The grass is green).

Estar“to be” in the more transitory use, like in “El cielo está nublado” (The sky is cloudy).

Haber“to be” as “There is” / “There are”: Hay; “There was” / “There were”: Hubo/Hubieron

Verb “to have” in Spanish translates into verbs “Tener” and “Haber”, depending on the function and use of “to have”

Tener: “to have” in relation to ownership, like in: Tengo un auto rojo (I have a red car). Tengo frío (I feel cold. Lit: I have cold).

Haber: “to have” as auxiliary verb, like in: He caminado mucho (I have walked a lot).
